J&K interlocutors' report put on Home Ministry website, Govt. seeks informed debate

The Government has put the report of the Group of Interlocutors appointed by it on Jammu and Kashmir on the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs and said it would welcome an informed debate on its recommendations.

The Ministry had appointed the three interlocutors -- journalist Dilip Padgaonkar, academician Radha Kumar and former Information Commissioner M H Ansari - in October 2010 to hold a sustained dialogue with all sections of the people in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Group of Interlocutors held extensive deliberations with the Government of J&K, political parties and civil society stake-holders at the State and National levels. Their report was submitted on October 12, 2011.
"The view expressed in the report are the views of the interlocutors. The Government
has not yet taken any decisions on the report. Government will welcome an informed debate
on the contents of the report," an official press release added.
