Harichandan appointed Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Anusuiya Uikey of Chhattisgarh

President Ram Nath Kovind today appointed Odisha BJP leader Biswa Bhusan Harichandan as the new Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh BJP leader Anusuiya Uikey as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh.
A press communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan said the appointments would take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
Harichandan replaces E S L Narasimhan, who served as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh since January 2010. A former Director of the Intelligence Bureau, he is also the Governor of Telangana. He was earlier the Governor of Chhattisgarh for three years from January 2007.
The post of Chhattisgarh governor was under the additional charge of Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
Harichandan is a five-time member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
