IMD forecasts wet spell over Western Himalayan Region and plains of NW India during February 17-21

With two Western disturbances set to affect northwest India between today and February 21, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rain or snow over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and scattered to fairly widespread over Uttarakhand during next five days. 
However, the intensity of the rain/snow will be high on February 20 and 21, a press release from IMD said here today.
The release said isolated heavy rain/snow would occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on February 20 and 21.
Light/moderate isolated to scattered rainfall would occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during February 18 to 21, it said.
Thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm, lightning and gusty winds at isolated places would occur over Jammu division, lower reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand mainly on February 18, 20 and 21; and over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and north Rajasthan on February 20 an 21, the release added.
