T C A Raghavan named as Director General of Indian Council of World Affairs

Former career diplomat T C A Raghavan  has been appointed as the new Director General and ex-officio Member-Secretary of the Indian Council of World Affairs.
The appointment was made by Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, who is the President of ICWA on the basis of a decision taken at the meetings of the Governing Body and the Governing Council of the ICWA here today, an official press release said.
The post is equivalent to the rank of Secretary to the Government of India. The appointment will be with effect from July 24, the release said.
Dr. Raghavan, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1982 batch, has served as India's High Commissioner to Islamabad and Singapore. He has also served in Indian missions in London, Thimphu and Kuwait.
