Former NIA chief appointed Vigilance Commissioner

Mr. Sharad Kumar, former Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been appointed as Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) here.
An official press release said that Mr. Kumar would have a term of four years from the date on which he enters upon his office, or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Mr. Kumar, a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1979 batch  (Haryana cadre), served as Director General of NIA from August, 2013 to October, 2017.
