Six wagons of goods train derail in Koraput district of Odisha

Six wagons of a goods train derailed between Dumuriput and Damanjodi stations in Koraput district of Odisha, in Waltair Division of East Coast Railway (ECR), late last night, affecting rail traffic on the section.
 
The mishap occurred around 0045 hours today while the train was approaching route number 3 of Damanjodi yard, blocking both lines, ECR sources said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
 
The Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division and other senior officers have rushed to the spot. Relief trains with care have been sent to the site from Visakhapatnam and Kirandul.
 
Normal traffic is expected to be restored on the line by this afternoon, the sources said.
 
As a consequence of the mishap, some trains have been cancelled, partially cancelled or diverted, the sources added.
