Moderate earthquake jolts Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan

An earthquake of moderate intensity, measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale, jolted the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
 
The quake, which had its epicentre at latitude 36.0°N and longitude 70.0°E, occurred at 1512 hours IST at a focal depth of 82 km, an IMD bulletin said.
