Indian Navy's INS Trishul thwarts piracy attempt on Indian bulk carrier

The Indian  Navy's stealth frigate, INS Trishul, foiled a piracy attempt against an Indian bulk carrier, M V Jag Amar in the Gulf of Aden today.
The attempt was made on the Indian ship, with 26 Indian crew members, around 12.30 pm today.
INS Trishul, which was on an anti-piracy deployment in the region, responded immediately, Indian Navy sources said.
The Navy's marine commandos completed boarding operations soon after and secured the ship. All 26 Indian crew members were safe, the sources said.
The commandos recovered one AK 47 rifle with one magazine with 27 rounds, grapnels, ropes, fuel drums and ladders during the operation, they added.
