Retired IAS officer I. V. Subba Rao appointed Secretary to Vice-President

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr. I.V. Subba Rao, a retired officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), as Secretary to Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
An official press release said that the appointment would be  on contract basis, in the rank and pay of Secretary, for a period of two years initially.
Dr. Subba Rao, who belonged to the 1979 batch of the IAS (Andhra Pradesh cadre), had retired from service in 2015.
He  had served as Establishment Officer and Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, among other key assignments.
