S. Aparna appointed as Executive Director in World Bank

Ms. S. Aparna, a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1988 batch (Gujarat cadre), has been appointed as the Executive Director representing the constituency of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka in the World Bank.
Ms. Aparna is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
A notification from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said Ms. Aparna would succeed Mr. Subhash Chandra Garg, who has taken over as the Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance.
The appointment is for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the notification added.
