Depression over Bay of Bengal likely to cross Odisha coast on Tuesday night, cause heavy rains

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said the depresssion over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Odisha was very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross Odisha coast between Gopalpur and Puri by tonight.
 
A bulletin from IMD, issued at 1130 hours today, remained practically stationary in the past three hours and lay centred near latitude 19.0º N and longitude 86.0 ºE, about 120 km east-southeast of Gopalpur and 80 km south-southeast of Puri. 
 
The bulletin warned that rainfall was very likely over south Odisha during the next 48 hours and over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours, with  heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy rainfall.
 
It also said that rainfall was very likely at most places in Chhattisgarh, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, during the next 24 hours and heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy rainfall during the subsequent 24 hours.
 
The bulletin said rainfall was very likely at most places over Telangana and north Odisha during the next 48 hours, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at  isolated places, and over east Madhya Pradesh on July 19-20 and west Madhya Pradesh on July 20-21.
 
The bulletin said squally winds, with speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph, would prevail along an off Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next 48 hours.
 
The sea condition would be rough to very rough along and off Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next 48 hours.
 
Fishermen along and off Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts are advised not to venture into sea during the next 48 hours.
