Minor earthquake shakes West Bengal on Monday afternoon

An earthquake of slight intensity, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, was recorded in West Bengal this afternoon.
 
A bulletin from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the quake, which had its epicentre at latitude 26.8°N and longitude 89.2°E, occurred at 1517 hours at a focal depth of 10 km, an IMD bulletin said.
