Gaitri Issar Kumar appointed as Ambassador to Belgium

Ms. Gaitri Issar Kumar, Additional Secretary-cum-Social Secretary to the President of India, has been appointed as the new Ambassador of India to Belgium.
Ms. Issar Kumar, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1986 batch, will also be accredited as the Ambassador of India to the European Union, a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
The MEA also announced that Ms. Reenat Sandhu, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India in Washington, D.C. (IFS: 1989), has been appointed as the country's next Ambassador to Italy.
Mr. Ajit Vinayak Gupte, (IFS: 1991), presently Joint Secretary in the MEA, has been appointed as Ambassador to Denmark.
The officers are expected to take up their new assignments shortly, the release added.
