Sahitya Akademi to hold workshop for children on creative writing from May 22-26

Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters, will conduct the first edition of Kissa-O-Kalam: The Speaking Pen, an annual workshop for children on creative writing in Hindi and English, here from May 22-26.
The workshop will be held at its office in the capital at Rabindra Bhavan, 35, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi – 110001, a press release from the academy said.
The release said the five-day session had been planned with a special focus to help children enjoy reading and writing, to play with language, and to use it creatively as a first step towards the creation of books.
The workshop will have seats for 50 children in the age group of 8 – 16 years. After applicants fill up the registration form, shortlisted children will be called for an interaction. A final list of selected children will later be announced. Children who complete the workshop will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
The workshop will be conducted by Chandana Dutta, Suvidha Mistry and Vandana Bist. There will be a special three-hour interaction during the workshop with Anushka Ravishankar, the popular and widely published children’s writer.
