Two minor quakes shake Kamrup, Nagaon regions of Assam

Two minor earthquakes, both measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, shook the Kamrup and Nagaon regions of Assam today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The first quake, which had its epicentre at latitude 26.1 N and longitude 91.3 E, occurred in the Kamrup area at 0044 hours at a focal depth of 18 km, an IMD bulletin said.
The second tremor, which had its epicentre at latitude 26.5°N and longitude 93.0°E, occurred at 0910 hours in the Nagaon region at a focal depth of 24 km, the bulletin added.
