Electropreneur Park at Delhi University to incubate 50 early-stage start-ups

Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad today inaugurated an Electropreneur Park at University of Delhi, South Campus to incubate 50 early stage start-ups and create at least five global companies over a period of five years.
Mr Prasad said India had to take the lead in the ongoing digital revolution as it alone had the potential to transform the country into a vibrant economy.
The NDA Government has already sown the seeds for this and introduced programmes like Make in India, Skill india and Stand Up India with the purpose of making all sections of the society equal partners in these game changing initiatives, he added.
The initiative to set up the electropreneur park was taken by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Managed by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), it is implemented by India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA).
The incubation centre has already incubated six early-stage start-ups, with a few more in the process of on-boarding.
The start-ups under incubation were awarded the admission certificate during the inauguration of the centre. The selection was done based on the stringent evaluation of about 200 proposals received.
