Deep depression over Arabian Sea likely to cross South Gujarat coast on Tuesday: IMD

A deep depression over north-east Arabian Sea is expected to to move east-north-eastwards and cross the South Gujarat coast, near Diu, by today afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
In a bulletin, the IMD said the deep depression lay centred at 0830 hours IST of today over north-east Arabian Sea off South Gujarat coast near latitude 20.5°N and longitude 70.5°E, about 50 km west-southwest of Diu.
The bulletin said the maximum surface wind speed was about 30 knots, gusting to 40 knots, around the system centre. The sea condition is very rough around the system centre and along and off the Gujarat coast.
