Assamese poet Rabindra Sarkar chosen for Sahitya Akademi Award 2013

Eminent Assamese poet Rabindra Sarkar has been honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award for 2013 for his book of poetry Dhuliyori Bharir Sans.
The book was selected on the basis of recommendations made by a jury of three members, Mr Arun Sarma, Mr Hrishikesh Goswami, and Dr Malinee Goswami.
The book relates to books first published between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011.
Mr Sarkar and other Sahitya Akademi Award winners in 24 languages announced earlier will be presented the award at a function here on March 11 during the Festival of Letters organised by the Akademi.
The award is the form of a casket containing an engraved copper plaque, a shaw and a cheque for Rs 100,000.
