Sudhir Vyas appointed Secretary (West) in Ministry of External Affairs

Mr Sudhir Vyas, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as Secretary (West).

An official press release from the Ministry of External Affairs said Mr Vyas, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1977 batch, will succeed Mr Madhusudan Ganapathi on his retiremet on December 31.
Mr Pinak R. Chakravarty, IFS (77), Special Secretary (Public Diplomacy), will succeed Mr Vyas on his relinquishing the charge of the post, the release said.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has also approved the appointment of Ms. Shobhana Joshi, Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) (1979 batch), presently Additional Financial Adviser and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Finance), as Financial Adviser (Acquisition) & Member (Defence Procurement Board) and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence in the vacancy of Mr Amit Cowshish, IDAS (Retired), the release added.
