Antony witnesses Brahmos launch, SAM interceptions during Tropex 12

Defence Minister A K Antony spent two days with the Indian Navy on February 7-8 during which he witnessed the annual Theatre Level Readines and Operational Exercise (Tropex).
 
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nirmal Verma and Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral A K Chopra accompanied him on the visit.
 
The exercise involved two completely networked fleets, widely dispersed across seas in the Indian Ocean, operating in a dense electronic environment to match their professional and technical proficiency. New platforms, weapons sensors, communication systems and tactics were being tested and they tried to optimize the net combat power of the fleets.
