Nitin Gadkari says will contest next Lok Sabha elections


Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari today said that he would contest the next Lok Sabha elections due in 2014.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Gadkari did not specify the constituency which he would contest from. But it was clear that he would contest from his hometown Nagpur.
Mr Gadkari had last faced the general elections in 1985 when he contested the assembly elections of Maharashtra from Nagpur (West) unsucccessfully.
Later, since 1989, he has been getting elected to legislative council from the graduates' constituency of Nagpur.
Mr Gadkari also said that the party would announce its prime ministrial candidate as and when the time came and added that the party had many qualified persons for that post.
