Bengal: Sushanta Ghosh remanded in 4-day CID custody

Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongman and MLA Sushanta Ghosh and three others were today remanded in CID custody by Chief Judicial Magistrate of Midnapore District Judges' Court Manoj Ray in connection with the skeleton recovery case.

Ghosh will be produced in the court on August 20.

The other three persons who were remanded in CID custody are CPI (M) leaders Madan Santra, Kalidas Choudhury and Biman Ghosh.

The CPI (M) leaders would be interrogated along with the MLA by the CID to elicit more information in the case.

Mr Ghosh, a former state minister, was arrested after DNA tests identified bones and skeletons dug up from his ancestral house's premises as those of Trinamool Congress supporters abducted and murdered in September 2002.

Mr Ghosh complained of chest pain and was admitted in the ICCU of SSKM hospital on August 14 night. He was discharged from the hospital today morning.
