Sikkim HC Chief Justice Dinakaran resigns, says was being "calculatively targeted"

Sikkim High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, who is facing impeachment on charges of corruption, today resigned from his position, alleging that he was being "calculatively targeted" as he belonged to an under-privileged group.

Mr Justice Dinakaran, who was earlier Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, sent his resignation to President Pratibha Patil, official sources said.

Mr Justice Dinakaran has been accused of acquiring land illegally in Tamil Nadu.
