In a letter to BJP Parliamentary Party Chairman L K Advani and BJP President Nitin Gadkari, Mr Shanta Kumar is understood to have demanded action against Mr Yeddyurappa to improve the image of the party, sources said.

The BJP's inability to act when the allegations were flying has adversely affected the party's image and it is high time that the party acted now, Mr Kumar wrote, the sources added.
