Kochi Tuskers beat Chennai Super Kings by 7 wkts for second straight IPL win

Debutants Kochi Tuskers scored their second win in a row in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), beating defending champions Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets with 12 balls to spare in a match that was curtailed by three overs each by rains.

Batting first, CSK, led by India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, made 131 for four in their stipulated 17 overs, worked out by the Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method. Suresh Raina made 50, while opener M Vijay contributed 28.

In response, the home team made 135 for three in 15 overs, aided by Brendon McCullum's superb 47 and Parthiv Patel's 34.

Rains stopped the match for about 93 minutes and the umpires decided to reduce the match to 17 overs a side and set the home team a revised target of 135 runs for a win.
