Maoists blow up school building, mobile tower in Gaya

Two different groups of activists belonging to the proscribed CPI (Maoist) blew up a school building and a mobile telephone tower under different police stations in this district today.

Superintendent of Police Ratnamani Sanjiv said here that an armed group of Naxalites attacked Khajuria middle school and blew up its building by triggering an explosion in the Banke Bazar police station limits. A large portion of the school building was damaged in the attack.

Mr Sanjiv said that, in a separate incident, another group of ultras blew up a mobile phone tower at Lutiya Bazar in Imamganj police station area in the district.

The rebels managed to escape from the spot after engineering the disruptive activities at Khajuria and Lutiya Bazar. Raids were being carried out to nab them, he added.
