Navin Kumar appointed Urban Development Secretary

Mr Navin Kumar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1975 batch (Bihar cadre), has been appointed as the Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development.

Mr Kumar is currently the Principal Adviser in the Planning Commission. He will succeed Mr M Ramachandran, who retired yesterday.

An official press release said the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had also approved the appointment of Mr Jayant Prasad, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1976 batch as Special Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
