"Companion Travels Free" offer for Indians on Buddhist Circuit train

The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a "Companion Travels Free" offer for Indians who travel on the Buddhist Circuit special train for trips commencing on February 26 and March 9 and 20.


The offer is aimed at providing an opportunity for domestic tourists to experience the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India and travel in the footsteps of Lord Buddha.


The train, which is the winner of the National Tourism Award, covers Bodhgaya, Nalanda, Rajgir, Sarnath, Varanasi, Kushinagar, Lumbini (Nepal), Sravasti and Agra.


Tourist and pilgrims from over 25 countries have traveled on this special train in the last two years, an official press release said here today.


The 7 nights/8 days tour package has an all-inclusive price tag of Rs 41,125 per person for AC 2 tier and Rs 34,545 for AC 3 Tier. Apart from the journey, the package includes hotel accommodation, road transportation in AC deluxe buses, all meals, sightseeing, monuments entrance fee, tour guid services, travel insurance and on-board security.
