Railway Minister to meet trade, industry for pre-budget talks

Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold pre-budget consultations with representatives of the trade and industry here tomorrow.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry, major industry associations, both at the national and state levels, and important rail customers, an official press release said.

The release said Railway Board Chairman S S Khurana and all members of the Board would attend the meeting.

According to the release, the interaction is aimed at obtaining innovative ideas for placing the Indian Railways on a sustained and rapid growth path. The session will provide a forum for welcoming suggestions and inviting proposals for investment through Public Private Partnership (PPP) in various ongoing and future projects on Railways, it added.
