3 killed as mini-bus overturns in capital

Three persons, including a schoolboy, were killed and 17 others suffered injuries when an overcrowded mini-bus overturned after one of its tyres burst in North Delhi this morning.

The bus was on its way from Harsh Vihar to the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) when the mishap occurred around 0800 hours, police sources said.

The three victims, including a 17-year-old student of Ludlow Castle School, died on the spot. The other two men, said to be in their late 20s, were yet to be identified, the sources said.

The injured, eight of whom are students, were rushed to the Sushruta Trauma Centre nearby, where they were undergoing treatment, they said, adding that the driver of the bus was absconding after fleeing from the scene of the accident.
