The Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) today gave its coveted Dr K Subrahmanyam Award to Dr Harsh V Pant of King's College, London, for his outstanding contribution to the field of strategic studies.

Defence Minister A K Antony presented the award to Dr Pant at the 44th Foundation Day Celebrations of IDSA here this morning.

Air Commodore Arjun Subramaniam got the Special Mention Award for studies in Defence and Security Issues.

"It is gratifying that despite a demanding schedule, a serving Air Force officer has devoted time and energy to pen well-researched articles for prestigious defence journals. I am sure that such recognition would encourage more serving officers to follow suit. We need more officers with a broader vision of the new challenges confronting India’s security," Mr Antony said.
