Raghupathy takes over as Chairman of SSC


Mr N K Raghupathy, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has taken over as Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission.

Before taking over his new assignment, he was the Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Mr Raghupathy has also held various senior positions in the Central Government and in the Government of West Bengal, an official press release said.

The Staff Selection Commission was set up in 1975 and was initially known as the Subordinate Services Commission. It makes recruitment to Group B (Non-Gazetted) and non-technical Group C non-gazetted posts in the Ministries, Departments, attached and subordinate offices of the government of India, as well as the offices of the Comptroller and Auditor General and its Accountant-General offices, the Election Commission and the Central Vigilance Commission.
